    Special events for schools and libraries such as Book Week, World Book Day and timetabled projects to celebrate literature through reading, writing and creating books are enhanced by a visit from authors, poets and illustrators. Children are enthralled to see someone drawing, a character or animal come alive in front of their eyes, something from nothing - but inspired by the words from a book. They watch as an idea is taken from text and developed in all sorts of ways, and gives them the experience of creativity in action - including thoughts changing as sketching progresses towards a more complete visualisation which is often just one of many possilites.
